Last Saturday I spent the entire day purging my wardrobe. I got rid of eight large bags of clothes, including most of the archives. I tried on everything to make sure it still fit, made some tough decisions, and now I'm left with a closet...that's still overflowing.
Sigh. I seriously have too many clothes. But like I told my husband, I love them all! Still, I think it's time for another shopping hiatus. I've done them before, with varying degrees of success. This one won't be a complete ban, but I'm going to be much more selective, and if something comes in, something else has to go out to share its abundance elsewhere.
Which means wearing what's in my closet. Here's a bit of April...
The month started out chilly, as per Seattle spring standards, so vests and moto boots were still in the rotation. I love this floral vest from Loft because it's warm and spring-y.
This bodycon sweater dress was donated in the closet purge. I just couldn't get comfortable in it - I was constantly pulling it down and fidgeting. It went well with this cute brown leather jacket (similar) though.
Florals, jeans and booties have been my April jam. This floral embroidered sweater would go with just about anything.
Another item that didn't survive the purge (similar). It was a little tight on top, and I don't think peplums are right for me. I did love the colors though.
What I wore on Easter Sunday. I have a small-ish addiction to white blouses, and this one from Loft is so pretty. Yellow is a perfect color for spring (similar pants), and floral flats finished off the outfit.
April is finishing off just like it started, chilly and rainy, so I've pulled the tall boots out again. This striped pencil skirt from H&M goes with everything (I can't find it online, but I've seen it in stores recently) and my Paris top is just fun!
Happy Thursday, friends! Hope you have a great weekend.
Hi Lana, oh I too have to find a day soon to just dedicate to cleaning out and organizing my closet. I like all of the outfits you are wearing and you look so good. Have a great day.

I didn't think it would take all day, but it did! Feels so good now though.
DeleteLook at all your cuteness!
ReplyDeleteThanks friend!
DeleteI love your style so much sweet friend, that pencil skirt was just made for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI can just imagine the piles you went through- I've seen your closet!! I love that moto jacket outfit
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's out of control. I saved lots of stuff for consignment too!
DeleteI'm so impressed with your purging!! I need to do that big time. I have been trying not to buy multiples of items....if I already have a yellow shirt, do I really need two (of course, sometimes the answer is yes..ha ha-so I'm not sure that's working!)

I do too much impulse buying - and I blame it all on my blogger friends. You keep sharing such cute things!
DeleteI love white blouses. I haven't worn them in forever but I used to have like.. 7 for my work wardrobe. I miss them!
ReplyDeleteI love how springy and layered your look was for April. Such a transition month!
I'm always drawn to white for some reason. I have too many!
DeleteIt's hard for me to wrap my brain around the fact that there are parts of the country that are still cold - it's 86 degrees here and humid! UGH, I need to move!

86 sounds heavenly - but maybe not the humidity! We won't see temps like that until probably July!
DeleteThat's a loyof bag 😯 .I have a pretty small closet so that keeps me in check and I have one rubbermaiR for the off season clothing. If it can't close I have to get rid of something. In the past I have been tempted to just get a bigger container but try to resist the urge. I love your outfits and my one wish would be to find white bliusbl that I love. I just never seem to look for them. Maybe you should shop for me. 😆
ReplyDeleteI'm super impressed! I'm not sharing this with my husband - he might want me to try it! We should go shopping together!
DeleteI need to switch out my winter and spring clothes and know there will be a few things to purge. I love your embroidered sweater and your pretty Easter outfit!
