Ten Things You Didn't Know About Me
Happy Monday! Today The Blended Blog is sharing "ten things you didn't know about me". I feel like you guys already know everything, but I thought hard and came up with some random stuff!
1/ I've colored my hair for so long, I'm not at all sure what my natural color is anymore. Probably lightish brown with plenty of gray thrown in.
2/ Since I paid my own way through college, I had lots of jobs, and some of them were pretty strange. One year I audio recorded textbooks for students that were blind. It was really monotonous to read about chemistry for hours, but the pay was great.
3/ I have never had a hangover. It only takes one drink to get me tipsy, so I've never managed to over indulge. Such a cheap date.
4/ I hate seafood of any kind. Which is a waste, living in Seattle. I'm happy to help catch it, but don't ask me to eat it.
5/ I got straight A's my entire school career, even through college. Which I kind of regret. While everyone else was out having fun, I was studying. And seriously, does anybody care now? Nope.
6/ George and I dated for eight years before we got engaged, and when he finally proposed, I thought he was breaking up with me instead. See, straight A's doesn't mean you have any common sense.
7/ Although I'm a West Coast girl, I lived in North Carolina for five years during elementary school. Which makes me a little southern. Can I start saying y'all?
8/ The people in my family, on both sides, live forever. Grandpa Ed just celebrated his 100th birthday, and my boys have had three great-grandparents that they've grown up knowing.
9/ Since moving to Washington, I've experienced two big earthquakes, the eruption of Mount St. Helens, and several hurricane strength storms. And they say nothing exciting ever happens around here!
10/ I grew five inches in 6th grade to my current height of 5'9". I had such bad growing pains that year I could barely sleep at night, and I was taller than every single person in my class, even the boys.
That was fun! Can't wait to read about everyone, so I hope you'll link up with us on The Blended Blog, or share on social media with the #tbbasks.
This was so fun!!! Yep, same here, been coloring my own hair, mind you, for 30 years, ever since my mama taught me in HS. What amazing longevity & Grandpa Ed looks so good!
ReplyDeleteMy boys better be prepared to take care of me!
DeleteI seriously thought you were a natural blonde!! I would have never guessed! Ugh, earthquakes scare me! We've had a couple small ones here in STL.

I didn't know you got earthquakes there. My colorist will be very happy to hear you think I'm a natural blonde!
DeleteOf course you can say, y’all any time you want to!! Loved reading all about you today!!
ReplyDeleteThank you - I might have to throw a few y'alls in here and there!
DeleteI LOVED your '10 things'! Especially 'straight A's doesn't mean you have any common sense' (I put something very similar one mine :)). Love the crab pic - your husband is so gung ho and you are just ever so slightly edging away haha. I can relate to the hair thing - mine is ditry blonde and I've half highlighted bits of it since I was 16 - the thought of not doing it is incomprehensible. That is CRAZY how much you grew - people who say there is 'no such thing as growing pains' are clueless don't you think? My son gets them all the time (even though he's small for his age;) Great post - Joanne xx
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne! Yes, growing pains are definitely a thing and they're quite painful. Love that we both wrote about our lack of common sense!
DeleteOoooh we have some stuff in common Lana! I have NEVER had a hangover either and never intend to! I've been coloring my hair forever too, and I used to read for a blind student in college! My friend and I did it but it was all psychology and that was our major! This was fun to learn so much about you - all A's, that is INCREDIBLE!!!!

So fun - I think we would get along so well!
DeleteThat was fun- there are definitely a few new things I didn't know!
ReplyDeleteCan I just say I'm jealous you've never had a hangover! I'm can't drink at all basically, I can have one drink and feel absolutely terrible, so I just decided it wasn't for me. I also don't like seafood at all, blah!! This was a fun post!

Lana I would never think of you, living in the Seattle area, not being a fish eater! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteLove this! I wish I could say I’ve never had a hangover. You aren’t missing out!
ReplyDeleteOMG I thought that was your natural color, the first fact already blew me away. I only eat seafood for protein, wow this is so interesting. Ahh you thought he was breaking up with you when he was proposed… that’s hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThose were interesting facts and I agree with the studying thing, no one asks you what grades you got in college! :) I do hope you live forever! :)
ReplyDeleteI live in the Puyallup/ Tacoma area! Not too far away from Seattle. I lived in Florida for 10 years where I met my hubby! You could say I'm a bit southern too!

What a relief that he was proposing and not issuing a breakup!
ReplyDeleteWe have things in common, of course. I've never had a hangover. Never got that far!
Also, my big growth spurt was all at once, but it was in 8th grade. Now I'm 5'6" but I used to be the tiniest kid in school.
