Friday Ramblings: February Edition
I had so much fun rambling last month, I'm doing it again...
Apparently 2018 is going to follow in 2017's footsteps and FLY BY. I cannot believe January is done. At least we're one month closer to spring.
Speaking of which, my poor little daffodils are confused, because they're already blooming. Let's keep our fingers crossed that Phil doesn't see his shadow today. Otherwise these guys aren't going to make it.
Go see "The Post" with Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks. I kind of have a crush on Katherine Graham since reading her autobiography years ago. She was an amazing, smart, ahead of her time woman. The movie is really well done and as per usual, Meryl nails it. And now I want to read her book again.
One of my goals for this year is to try something new every month. In January, Mr. Lana (my new name for him, bestowed by Foxy's Domestic Side) and I tried snowshoeing. So much fun! I've pretty much given up on downhill skiing due to my bad knee (ironically, caused by downhill skiing) so this was a fun alternative to get out into the snowy forest. More on our adventurous day coming soon!
For months I was getting the "back up your phone, or else, except you need to buy more icloud storage first" message. But I didn't want to buy more icloud storage, so I kept ignoring it. And then Jennie came to my rescue and shared the life changing information about photo storage with Amazon Prime Photos. I guess I should pay more attention to those emails they send me explaining the benefits of Amazon Prime. Now all my pictures are nicely backed up on Prime Photos and I can go back to ignoring icloud.
Just finished this book and I highly recommend. It's kind of historical fiction, set in Paris just as World War II is ending. The story revolves around an American woman who comes to Paris with her husband and meets Christian Dior, before he became CHRISTIAN DIOR. It's an interesting and entertaining look into haute couture as Paris reclaims it's status as fashion capitol of the world.
How do you like to shop? Do you prefer solitary perusing or hanging with your girlfriends? Some friends came to town last weekend and we had the most fun shopping at all the stores. Usually I'm on my own, and it was such a blast to bounce things off them and get their opinion.
The Blended Blog has some great things coming up in February, starting with next Monday's TBB Asks. Hope you'll join us and share the love!
Have a great weekend friends!

You know Mr. Nine and I are big snowshoers!! We are in the same boat, used to be skiers but old age and joints has prompted us into a more body friendly snow activity!! Hope your weekend is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI'm adding that book to my list. I also usually shop solo so it was a nice treat to have people to laugh with. Snowshoeing is on my list for next week!
ReplyDeleteI'd try snowshoeing again if I didn't hate the cold. I think I was born on the wrong continent.
ReplyDeleteI really must pick up that book.

Just added The Designer to my TBR list on Goodreads. Thanks for the suggestion; I love historical fiction! Fingers crossed that your poor daffodils still make it even tho that crazy Groundhog said no to Spring!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I hope he doesn't mind being called Mr. Lana. I've always wanted to try and snowshoe. IF...I mean when we go see Deena, let's do it! And it was really nice shopping and getting opinions from people older than 4 and 7. haha!
ReplyDeleteI love these rambling posts. Snowshoeing looks so fun. I'm going to see if our library has that book. Sounds interesting to me. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a shopper unless you count online shopping lol. I prefer to shop while on trips. I always find better stuff that way.
ReplyDeleteI remember filling out those Valentine’s Day questions last year! I love them. January was a weird month. I know that where I live people wanted a very fresh start but then January had the worst flu outbreak ever and awful weather and many people here don’t like our president. So that’s been rough!
ReplyDeleteYes, that book looks like one I would definitely enjoy, so I need to check it out. I absolutely adore Meryl and Tom, and glad you enjoyed the movie so much! Hugs...and Happy Saturday.
