TBB Asks: New Year, New You
Happy Monday, friends! I'm joining the Blended Blog ladies for this months' TBB Asks. We've enjoyed getting to know more about all of you - thanks for linking up! Now on to a New Year, New You...
1 / Typically I do resolutions, but for the last few years I've framed it more as "goals". I feel like my resolutions are too generic, but I get more specific with goals. For example, in the past I would have said "go on more dates with the hubs", but this year my goal is to try a new restaurant each month. Now let's see if I'm any better at following through!
2 / I love snow as long as I don't have to drive in it. Lots of hills + no snow equipment + inexperienced Seattle snow drivers is a bad combination. I love the peacefulness of a fresh snowfall. This year we had a rare white Christmas (maybe my fourth one ever?) and it was a definite love.
3 / We have lots of family events scheduled this year, so I probably won't go anywhere new. But I'm up for anything.
4 / Hair color. Because my hair is long, I can go a long time without a cut. But clearly this color isn't natural, so...
5 / Make more time to write. I started blogging because I love writing, but I've let it get away from me. I'm trying to build writing time into my schedule every day this year.
6 / Have you been to Seattle? January is one long gray, rainy month. I'm ready for some sun.
7 / It's one month closer to spring.
8 / Usually they come down on New Year's Day, but this year Thomas asked if they could stay up longer. We just got everything put away over the weekend and it took two full days.
9 / Not this year! I started a new fitness/eating program last August, and so far I've lost 15 pounds. I gained a few back over the holidays, but now that I'm on track again I hope to lose ten more. It's not a diet, but rather a different way of eating, and I love it. I'll be sharing more later this month.
10 / The kitchen. No matter what I do, the cupboards and pantry are always a disaster. I need to come up with a new plan.
11 / All the soup. Especially creamy ones.
12 / Reading. I could read for hours if everyone would leave me alone!
Time to link up! And be sure to join us next Monday for New Year's Resolutions.

Your hair is soooo gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAww...you're sweet.
DeleteI love your optimism for #7! Happy Monday, Lana!
ReplyDeleteIt's coming soon, right?
DeleteVery realistic goals! The snow I agree is pretty but it can stay on the mountains for me with the cold, cold for us.
ReplyDeleteYes, probably better in the mountains!
DeleteI'm with you on soups - especially creamy ones. And cheesy ones. YUM.
ReplyDeleteI honestly thought you were a natural blonde! It looks perfect.
We had a white Christmas but almost didn't. It was Christmas Eve and it was about 1-2 inches. So pretty!
There's nothing more magical than a white Christmas! My colorist does a great job, and it's been so long I'm not even sure what my natural color is anymore!
DeleteI could read all day too. Hope you fit plenty of time to write this week! Have a good one!!
ReplyDeleteI could spend so much time reading and writing if I didn't have to work!
DeleteLove the new goals! I'm making more time for my writing this year too! Trying to get back to blogging full time again. I've really missed it.
ReplyDeleteHope you'll be blogging more - I love your voice!
DeleteWe left our decorations up a little longer this year too, it's so depressing once they're gone - all that beautiful color and twinkle lights, ugh, I love it!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
xo,
Kellyann
Happy New Year Kellyann! It feels a little sadder with the college boy back to school again too.
DeleteYour sunshine arrives in less than 20 days. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteDoing a happy dance over here!
DeleteI take for granted all the white Christmas'... 38 to be exact!!!
ReplyDeleteLucky girl!
DeleteWow, I'm glad you didn't take down the Christmas decorations till after New Year's Day. That isn't the type of task you want to start on the first day of the year. I'm glad you hung out with your family instead.
ReplyDeleteIt's a rare year here when we don't have snow on Christmas Day, last year was one of them. This year we were buried in it. Like you, it is fun to look at but as soon as I need to leave the house to do anything I hate it. Quite frankly I could skip winter and be happy as a pug in a warm blanket.
Happy New Year!
Suzanne
I could definitely skip winter too.
DeleteI love reading too---when I was a kid, my mom used to limit me to a book a day! I only wish I could indulge like that again!!
ReplyDeleteHappy 2018!!

Wow - a book a day! I love that Jodie!
DeleteWhat fitness/eating plan have you been following? I need to get on track!
ReplyDeleteI'm doing the Faster Way To Fat Loss. I love it!
DeleteYour tree was pretty amazing! I had a small tree, and decided that I'm keeping it up and decorating it for each holiday. Give me lots of snow and cold weather, but we don't get much of that here in NC. However, we did have a cold snap for a while where we stayed below freezing. I try to keep things in my cabinet in order, but it usually doesn't stay that way very long. (lol) Happy New Year! Hugs...RO
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of keeping your tree up year round and decorating for each holiday. I'm going to have to keep that in mind and look for a smaller tree!
DeleteI've always said I could never live in Seattle. I'd be so unhappy in all the gray. It's hard enough during the rainy season down here in CA. So I take it you've stuck with the FTWFL? Have you done more than that first round or are you just continuing to follow the plan. I'm so happy for you losing that much. I've started back this week trying to follow the program pretty closely. I'll be looking forward to reading about your experience.
ReplyDeleteI only did one official round and now I'm just following the plan on my own. I love IF and honestly, just doing that and being a little careful with what I eat has kept the weight off. I need to get serious again though!
