Bonjour and happy Friday! As you're reading this, we've just spent our first day in Paris! It's a loooong 10.5 hour flight from Seattle, so we chose to leave in the afternoon and arrive here first thing in the morning.
Paris' morning was our midnight, so....jet lag. I did lots of research before we left, trying to figure out some tips and tricks. Flying West to East and crossing multiple time zones really messes with your body's circadian rhythm. Staying hydrated, sleeping on the plane, and staying up until bedtime in the new time zone are supposed to help. I also read about wearing sunglasses on the plane and until about 3pm local time, then getting plenty of light for the next four hours. I'll let you know if anything worked.
Packing for Paris was a challenge. Normally when I go somewhere with warm temperatures and lots of walking, I wear shorts and comfy tennis shoes. Not in Paris. My friends Whitney and Suzanne, experts on all things Parisienne, pointed out that shorts and flip flops are a big no. So I bought some cute Keds and packed my summer dresses. I can't wait to share the Paris fashion with you when I get back.
We have a loose itinerary and a miles long list of things we want to do and see. I really appreciated all the suggestions and tips. My buddy Alison shared the most wonderful blog with me, called World of Wanderlust. There is an entire category on France, and I took pages of notes from her suggestions.
Wi fi may be spotty, but I'll post as often as I can to my Instagram account. I hope you'll follow along.

On another note, next week is the one year anniversary of The Blended Blog. To celebrate, we have a fun scavenger hunt and giveaway going on all week. There's also a beautiful new design, thanks to Deena, Lisa and Nicole. Head over and check it out!

SOOO Exciting! I get it, though. Flying east to west was ok for me, but the Alaska - MA trip ruined me. I was jet-lagged for a few days!
