A few years ago, I told my husband that I wanted to skydive for my 50th birthday. After 34 years with this man, I should know better. He likes to surprise me, so he decided to book the trip, a year early.
And not tell me about it until Sunday morning - two hours before the jump.
In hindsight, that was probably a good thing, because I didn't have too much time to envision my premature death.
I'll write about the whole experience later this week, but it was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. The boys jumped with me, and they both want to do it again.
I think I'm good.

I'm linking up today with Shaunacey for Monday Moments of Gratitude. This week, I'm grateful for so many things. But mostly that I skydived and lived to tell about it.
I'm also linking up with Deena for May's Month in Numbers. Check out how everybody spent their May!

I love that they surprise attacked you with this gift and that you got to do it with both boys!
ReplyDeleteYou are so brave! What a fun surprise and so cool to do it with your boys. I agree - probably better not to know about that kind of adventure too far in advance. I would definitely have talked myself out of it if I had known the day before. Have a great Monday! Tanya @ The Other Side of the Road
ReplyDeleteYou are so brave! There is no way I would be able to do something like that! And how awesome that you got to do it with your boys!

ReplyDeleteYes you do need to be careful of what you say around your hubs! Wow I am impressed you went through it and made it a family event. You rock! So for your 50th?
ReplyDeleteOMG Lana - first, you wanted to do this, and second your hubby arranged a surprise jump. So great that you could do this with your kids. Wow, just wow.
ReplyDeleteLove that they surprised you! And I'm with you, I loved the sky diving experience but if I never did it again I wouldn't be sad about it. :) Glad you lived to tell the tale!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I can't wait to read more about your experience. This is something that is on my list but I'm totally terrified of at the same time. That's so awesome you did this with your boys because I'm sure they really helped to give you that extra boost of confidence to take the jump!!
