Hard to believe it's the end of April already. Someone in charge needs to slow down time a bit. The good news is that I'm linking up with Deena again to share what's been going on in my world, in numbers.
It's been 54 days since I started my Invisalign treatment, and it's going pretty well. Last week I had 8 attachments put on my front teeth, which makes eating more of a challenge. I laughed when the technician asked me if I'm loving Invisalign. Um, no? Does anyone actually love them?
19 workouts, AGAIN. That's 3 months in a row now. Note to self: try to get 1 more workout in to break this plateau.
We took a 2 day road trip to visit the college my son will be attending in the fall, which happens to be the alma mater of my husband and me. Choosing a dorm was difficult because they're all so flippin' beautiful! Boy, things have changed in 30 years. I'm excited for him because I know he's made the right choice.
Speaking of which, 1 cap/gown/graduation announcement made its way into the house, despite my ban of these items. Nobody listens to me. Only 1.5 months to go.
My awesome husband turned 49 this month, but we didn't celebrate with cake and ice cream. He's lost 50 pounds through a combination of healthy eating and exercise, and at this point he doesn't even want sweets. I'm pretty sure I will never get to that point, because life would be sad without chocolate. However, I whipped him up a nice fruit salad instead and he was happy!
I only read 1 book this month. Total fail. I need to choose better reading spots, because I keep falling asleep. But the book was so good, which makes up for the lack of quantity. If you haven't read "The Rosie Project", please do so immediately.
There were 3 days in a row of 80 degree weather, which I don't think has happened in Seattle in April. It was glorious. We were then punished for our good fortune with solid downpours. It was good while it lasted.
And the best part of the month. 3 days in Vegas with 6 blogger friends. I learned tons of helpful blogging information, consumed a zillion delicious calories, and cemented friendships that will last a lifetime. Honestly, the trip was too short. But we will meet again, and hopefully the other 9 ladies of The Blended Blog will be there too.
Have a wonderful weekend!
The Rosie Project was such a fun read! Great job on the workouts! Congrats to your husband on his weight loss! I don't think I could ever give up chocolate or sweets either. Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks Suzanne. I'm really proud of him.
DeleteThe Rosie Project is my next book on my list to read... I have been bad about reading lately, too! Your husband is doing awesome, wow! No wonder why he doesn't want sweets... but, I know what you mean... a sweet here or there is good in life, too! :) It was sweet of you to make him some fruit salad. I was looking at photos of my teeth at the start and now I'm on tray 7. WOW. It is amazing. I need to post the photos on my blog soon! Such a huge change!

I'm only on tray 3 because my ortho was on vacation for an extended period of time, so I had to wait for the attachments. I've noticed my teeth have more space between them, but nothing looks different. Would love to see your changes!
DeleteI also can't imagine life without sweets, but kudos to him. I have heard you really can lose the taste for sugar if you go long without it. I sorta happened to me when pregnant and everything became too intense for awhile. Not so now!
ReplyDeleteKudos on the workouts. I think I'm at 19 too.
Next month I need to break the cycle and try for 20! He definitely has lost his craving for sweets, but I can't imagine that ever happening for me.
DeleteWay to go to your MR. yep I still gotta have my sweets!! Lol. What a fun month!! May your weekend be as lovely as you are!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Andrea - you too!
DeleteIt's so good to hear what you've been up to! I can't believe graduation is already so close. You know he's going to a good school though and he's a good boy. I think he'll do awesome and so will you!
ReplyDeleteKeep telling me that Rena! I'm counting on you :)!

Deleteseriously I'm so impressed with you AND your hubby!! 19 workouts is amazing and 50lbs! WHOA!!!! As I'm eating cake and drinking wine... whoops.
ReplyDeleteyou forgot 2 squished macaroons lol
Simply Shaunacey
How could I forget the macaroons? I'm so sad that I didn't mention them.
DeleteI always enjoy reading these posts and what you have accomplished for the month. :) 19 workouts is still really good in my opinion, and congrats to your hubby.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jennie!
DeleteIsn't the Rosie Project just a wonderful book. It touches on an important topic, gives a different perspective, but in a nice, somewhat humorous way. I loved it so much that my husband ended up reading it as well! As for your husband, wow, good for him. That is dedication and though I love exercise (I know it's weird), I love sweets and wine more thus learning to love exercise. :) I enjoyed reading your post.
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny, I'm thinking about having my husband read it too!
DeleteCongrats to your hubby! For both the bday and the weight loss! My son's graduation got moved up a week because he is leaving for a month. And I'm leaving for five days on top of everything. Trying not to hyperventilate!
ReplyDelete~Sheila
Eek!!! Good luck with everything!
DeleteGreat numbers! I think 19 workouts sounds pretty darn good, even if it is a plateau. Congratulations to your husband. What a gift that his weight loss is to those who love him. He is bound to have a longer, healthier life. Heading over to put The Rosie Project on my Goodreads 'to-read'shelf.
ReplyDeleteOh good Leslie - you will love it!
