It's been a looooong week, and I've had it with the rain, my teeth, and brand new, malfunctioning computers. And scholarship applications, grumpy teenagers, and did I mention rain?
However, it's Friday, so I'm putting it all behind me and joining the ever lovely Carrie to share some goodness.
-- I think I mentioned last month that my husband doesn't "believe" in Valentine's Day. Yet every single year, a lovely bouquet of flowers arrives in my kitchen around the beginning of March. Must be our own romantic holiday. I should come up with a name.
-- As soon as my shopping ban is over, I'm buying a pair of lace up flats. I've been seeing them everywhere, and I think they're so lovely for spring. I really like this Steve Madden pair, but I'm open to suggestions.
-- Speaking of shoes, I saw this lovely story on my local news channel. A litter crew working along a busy freeway found 100 pairs of new shoes, still in the boxes. Instead of pitching them, they did a little research and brought them to Mary's Place, a great Seattle organization that provides emergency help for homeless women and children.
-- Thanks to a recommendation from Lisa at The Sequinist, I've been using this Ren Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial for a month. I use it every three days, and it's so easy to apply and rinse off after a minute. My skin has never felt so lovely, and I swear it looks brighter and less wrinkly. I'm probably imagining that last part, but my skin does feel wonderful!
--St. Patrick's Day is next week, and while we're not Irish, we usually celebrate with corned beef and cabbage. And this year I will also be making these delicious looking Little Irish Girl cookies, thanks to the lovely Andrea. Not only are they so pretty, but the recipe includes Bailey's Coffee Creamer for some minty goodness.
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
I've been eyeing those shoes too. I'm not a fan of tying things on my ankles but I might relent. Thanks for the tip on the skincare product. Thanks for posting with me.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little worried about the tie up the ankle too - but they're so cute!
DeleteI finally just got a pair of lace up flats and they are also Steve Madden. Really cute and comfortable! I'm going to be making those cookies this weekend too! :) That one minute facial sounds like a great product! Have a wonderful weekend!

Doused In Pink
Thanks Jill. I can't wait to see the flats on you!
Deletelace up flats are on my Vegas list...unless I find them before. Muahahahahah.
ReplyDeleteI actually got the exact same laceups only in black, and I absolutely love them! OK I gotta admit, they are little tough to get on at first but then they are super comfortable! Big Thank you for featuring my little Irish girl cookies! I am making another batch this weekend myself! May have to hide them so I don't eat too many, LOL! I hope you have a wonderful weekend beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to make the cookies this weekend!
DeleteI need some new summer shoes badly....
ReplyDeleteThere are some really cute ones this spring.
DeleteI loooove those shoes! I have some similar lace up ones but in burgundy!
ReplyDeleteRaindrops of Sapphire
These would be so pretty in burgundy!
DeleteI love your "whatever is lovely" posts, Lana! Hang in there with the rain, teeth, etc ... it will get better :) Your flowers are gorgeous - and I love how the placemat under them mirrors the colors in the bouquet.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan! Spring will come!
DeleteI tried on some lace up flats almost exactly like that this morning. I can't wear them though. Too flat. Yes, I'm cursed, I can't wear shoes that are too flat or too tall. Basically I'm Goldilocks looking for shoes.
ReplyDeleteGood for you on the teeth! Patience little grasshopper : ) Things will get better and the rain will go away. Well, maybe not but there might be a rainbow at some point, right?
bisous
Suzanne
These look a little too flat, so I'll have to try them on. Thanks for the encouragement!
DeleteI saw those cookies! I have to try them. They look like everything I love.
ReplyDeleteAnd lace up ballet flats may really have to happen for me.
I hope you have a LOVELY weekend!
Thanks Tamara - you too! I think these flats would be so pretty on you!
DeleteI need those shoes! Andrea had posted a similar pair. I LOVE THEM. Gorgeous flowers, so springy!! And you had me at cookies.
ReplyDeleteI know, right? Those cookies are calling my name.
DeleteI've been looking for lace-up flats, too! Since Andrea endorses the pair you featured, I'll give them a try!
ReplyDeleteThey seem to be getting lots of good reviews!
DeleteI would kill myself trying to wear those sandals haha! I need shoes that keep me flat on the ground. My husband is full Irish. His name is even Patrick and you know my last name and he is born on St. Patrick's Day. I am thrilled to tell you that my cousin is going to take care of mom for 4 whole days and I've rented us a cabin in the Smoky Mountains. I couldn't be more excited. I have only had one night without her since before my brother died.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have the best time on your getaway! You definitely deserve it!
DeleteLove that your husband does that!! Beautiful flowers!! And those lace up flats are so cool...I may have to look into those. Love that sweet shoe story!! Have a great weekend...hope the rain subsides!!
ReplyDeleteI'm still searching for the perfect lace up flats!
DeleteAww, how sweet of your husband to send you some flowers in March! I am looking for a pair of lace up sandals, too. I am wondering if I can find a pair that is open toed, too, now that it is warming up... I feel you about the teeth! I am 2 days away from putting in tray 4 of 15, so I am 1/3 done with the first round almost!!

Open toed lace up flats would be so pretty! Wow - tray 4. That seems so far away!
DeleteIt sounds like you a busy and rough weekend Lana... I hope your weekend is going much better xox
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear that they were able to find a place to donate the shoes they found xox ♡
Thanks Launna!
DeleteIt's hard not to smile when you're looking at pretty flowers. I'm on the hunt for some cute and comfy flats for spring too. And that mask...I have to look for that! Thanks for the tip.
