Sometime last week, browsing the internet, I came across this quote. And out loud, sitting in my office, I said "yes". I've felt like a bit of a blogging failure lately. Numbers are down, and there never seems to be enough time to do all the things I want to do.
But you know what? None of that matters, because I have connected with some of the most wonderful women on this journey. People I didn't know two years ago, who I now consider friends. They support me, and care about me, and collaborate with me.
Smart women.

It's Monday, so time to join Shaunacey for Monday Moments of Gratitude. This week I'm grateful for:
- Dr. Seuss. It was his birthday last week, and he would have been 112! I'm grateful for every word he wrote, especially this quote from my very favorite book.
- Weekend dinners with my family. We may be kooky and loud, but there's always a lot of love and food and talking and laughing. Yesterday we celebrated these two with fried chicken and cupcakes. Yum!

Be sure to head over to The Blended Blog today for some Spring inspiration from Sarah. I know I could use some!
And don't forget our second Style Perspectives link up on Wednesday. This week we're sharing Shades of Pink. Last week was a huge success, and we thank every one of you for joining us. Hope to see you again on Wednesday!
Happy Monday - have a great week!
Love that Dr Seuss quote! Family dinners together are the best! We are always so busy we don't do that often enough!

Loved the first quote you shared, as it is so true. Hope y'all had a wonderful time celebrating birthdays - friday chicken and cupcakes sounds yum!
ReplyDeleteYou are one of the best things that have come out of blogging for me! Great first quote!

I just love this! There are so many emotions that go along blogging, but the relationships are what make it all worthwhile!! Happy Monday!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great quote. Blogging has got me down lately as well. I do find that it is a bit of an emotional roller coaster. The only thing that keeps me going is exactly what you wrote, the friends I've made.

All these years later and Dr. Seuss is still pertinent and succinct! Thanks for sharing your quotes today.
ReplyDeleteI feel like a failure sometimes for days at a time. Then something will happen. A new post. A new opportunity. A new connection. It makes it feel better for sure.
ReplyDeleteDr. Seuss quotes are always poignant.
Don't worry about numbers. All of that stuff will grow and happen organically.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great quote! A lot of women in the blogging community compete against each other. I find it way lame. This is supposed to be fun. Not everyone is going to become a millionaire from a blog, lol. But hey, what do I know!
So grateful to be in a blogging community with you too my friend! Ignore the numbers. Who cares!?

Making the Most of Every Day
So thankful to have met and joined this community of incredible women. Numbers, let's just throw them out. Who likes math anyway? I always love your perspective and I absolutely love that first quote.
ReplyDeleteLove that you recognized Dr. Seuss. We had some fun at school on his birthday. I have about three link-ups to write and feel like a blogging failure over here, too. Just have so many things I am trying to keep up with and dancing as fast as I can, but with two left feet.
ReplyDeleteI love Dr. Seuss! He has the best quotes. I get the same way about my blog but I have to remind myself that I'm writing for fun and just let it go. Family dinners are the best!
ReplyDeleteTBB shows the truth of not competing. Thanks for sharing that reminder!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE that quote, it really made me think and the reason I have loved blogging so much is the amazing women (you included, obviously) and the collaboration. It's kind of awesome. I'm grateful for that!!

There's nothing better than family get-togethers! And I LOVE that Dr. Seuss quote!
ReplyDeleteGreat quote! And the connections we make through blogging is definitely the best part of it!
ReplyDeleteBirthday wishes to your family members! And you are light years away from being a blogging failure - your posts are always wonderful. Had we not started our blogs - we never would have met... so I am very glad that we both did!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great quote and one to remember, especially in the blogging world! I have made some great blog friends, too over the years! One of them I text all day long! lol! I have been thinking about you today, hope the Invisalign went ok and you're not hating them too much the first day. It gets better, I promise :)

I LOVE that first quote you shared. Weekend dinners are always fun with family.
ReplyDeleteLana, I really like this quote... I think we need this as a reminder as it's totally true. As you know I was getting burnt out by trying to keep up with everyone... I had to take a break, get things back in perspective and not care if people who don't care about me ever comments again... like you, I have met many people on line that are wonderful, those are the ones that matter xox
ReplyDeleteI think everyone's numbers are down lately, but it will pick up things have been hectic for you and I hope they finally slow down soon. i know you have ALOT on your mind, but we're here if you need us. I'm sending you some of our beautiful Spring weather!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that I've fallen so far behind in my reading! I'm getting caught up now and I LOVE that quote. I feel like I've been a rotten friend lately. Things have just taken off and I'm constantly working! I just got back from celebrating hubby's birthday (ST Patrick's Day) which he assures me was named after him lol! I went on vacation and came back with food poisoning so its been a fun week!
