If you're hopping over from Katie's blog, welcome to my home! And if you're starting here, let me explain.
Today, The Blended Bloggers are sharing a day in our lives. January 23, 2016, to be exact. Nine of us documented what we did that Saturday, and now it's time to hop around and see what everyone was up to.
Which for me ended up being a whole lot of not much. I had big plans to show you a very exciting day, which fizzled out shortly after I got up. But I'll get to that in a minute.
Although it was a Saturday, I still got up early for my devotional time.
Since we like to hike, even in the winter, I had planned a trip to one of our favorite spots, to share January in the Pacific Northwest with you. But the weather had other ideas. AND my husband was sick. No hiking for us.
So instead, I went downstairs and put in a 21 Day Fix DVD. After my workout I got on the computer to get a little blogging done.
As I sat there thinking about my day, I was feeling pretty bummed. This wasn't the kind of Saturday I had in mind. But I eventually decided to embrace it. Every day can't be exciting!
After a shower, I headed to the store to pick up supplies for my under the weather husband. Yay, finally out of the house!
I spent the afternoon reading, doing laundry, and getting dinner ready.
At 5:30 the boys arrived with their friends in tow. Because we almost always have extra teenagers for dinner. They can sense when it's time to eat! Lemon chicken and rice was on the menu.
Finally time for some fun! A hangout with a few of my favorite blogger friends. I have no idea why Deena, Shaunacey and I look distressed in this picture. We actually had a wonderful chat. What did you say to us, Carrie?
I finished up the evening with a rousing game of Scrabble with my husband, who was feeling a little better. I've never won a single game in 33 years with him, and this night was no exception. Sigh.
So there you have it, a day in my not so exciting life.
But to be honest, I kind of like it that way.
Now it's time to head over to Christy's blog and see what she was up to. She lives in Canada with her two little boys, so I'm sure she had a fun day!
Those easy weekend days always turn out to be the best! I haven't played scrabble in ages! Might have to break out that game this weekend! Hope your husband is feeling better!

We always forget about Scrabble - but once we get it out we play a lot!
DeleteYour day looked lovely!! That screenshot of your google hangout is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI know, didn't it turn out funny?
DeleteI'm too competitive. If I hadn't won one game in 33 years I'd simply stop playing. Ha!

I know, I really should. I keep thinking I'll win next time!
DeleteGreat day either way!! Why was I not on that Google Hangout??...I meant to be!! LOL
ReplyDeleteYou should have hung out with us! Next time...
DeleteYou win for best Google Hangout picture!
ReplyDeleteHaha - I have no idea what was going on there!
Deletelol that's an awesome pic of our hangout. I think I was making a 'zero' but I can't remember why (I'll blame the wine for that one). haha
ReplyDelete33 years and not winning once, I'd be playing a different game lol!! THen again, it's bound to happen sometime, right?!
I love that your sons bring home their friends, that's a big compliment you know!

Haha - that hangout was so fun. I keep thinking it's my turn to win!
DeleteYour afternoon of reading and doing laundry is exactly what I need and never get..... Sounds relaxing!
ReplyDeleteI remember those days. I thought I'd never get to sit down for a quiet moment again. But it will happen!
Deletehaha, never won in 33 years and he was sick, wow, impressive. Love the Google Hangout picture, I wish I could have joined in on the fun! And how do you know how much food to make for that many teenagers, so fun that they feel like they can bring people home for dinner. I hope my kids want to do the same! What's your secret?
ReplyDeleteWe almost always make extra food - my husband loves leftovers, so if nobody shows up it works out. Our house has always been open to all our boys friends - they have a "man" cave downstairs to hang out in, and we feed them!
DeleteLove that your house is the go-to house for dinner and good company. I bought a pool so my kids would have their friends over. Who knew I could have settled for just buying some groceries!!! P and I play Wordament online. My words are WAS and SAW, his are something like ubiquitous. Hope you were able to do your hike another day and that Mister is feeling 100%
ReplyDeleteStill haven't managed the hike! Hopefully soon. Food always works with boys!
DeleteI saw all of the bad weather heading your way hope you weathered it without incident! My husband was sick for over a week (which has never happened!) and OMG I was ready to kill him. If I heard "honey, I don't feel good" one more time I wouldn't be responsible for my actions. Now, he's better and me and the babies are sick. Go figure! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteAww...hope you're feeling better soon. We're used to the constant rain this time of year - but it does get old sometimes!
DeleteI love those days, relaxing and getting caught up. I feel like I get a lot of the little things done.
ReplyDeleteI played Scrabble with my mother for 22 years and never won a game with her until the last one... we always had such awesome chat times, I loved that time with her... good memories... thanks Lana ♡
That's why I love Scrabble - there's so much time to chat and visit.
DeleteOk, I'm not sure I remember crazy faces. A lazy Saturday is something I'm learning to love and embrace.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on it, although I still get antsy sometimes.
DeleteIt was relaxing, for sure.
ReplyDeleteI can never beat my husband at scrabble either! I refuse to play against him anymore. I decided to stick to cards.

I probably should give up!
DeleteSounds like a typical Saturday at my house too. Except for the Scrabble. I love it, but hubby isn't much for board or card games. And a blogger chat sounds fun, I never thought of that.
ReplyDeleteYou can do it through Google Hangout, with multiple people. So fun!
DeleteScrabble is fun. I haven't played in a long time.
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for reading!
I'm trying to make more time for reading this year - it's my favorite activity!
DeleteLove that you blogging girls chat :) How fun! And, a game of scrabble looks fun, too! I need to tell my husband we need to have a game night sometime soon!
