I can't believe there are only nine days until Christmas. Remember when you were little, and it seemed like Christmas would never get here? I wish I could recapture a few of those moments.
Shopping, baking, decorating, Christmas cards...so much to do this time of year. I feel like I started out at the end of the race, and I've yet to catch up.
But today I remembered that it's not a race. I want to make this season warm, happy, and meaningful for my mom, my family, and myself. There has been loss, but there is also joy. And no matter what I do or do not get done, it will be the perfect Christmas for us.
I just wish I had more than nine days.

It's my feature day at The Blended Blog, and I hope you'll head over and read about my number one parenting tip.
I always feel rushed as it gets closer to Christmas and am with you, it's not a race and everything will get done at some point! I'm heading over to the Blended Blog now and can't read your feature!

ReplyDeleteNine days.. can't believe we're in the single digits now. I remember thinking it took forever and ever as a kid. You're right!
I felt like I was ahead of the game and then suddenly Christmas in 9 days away! what?! When did that happen? As long as my oven gets fixed tomorrow I'll be good, I have Christmas cookies to make! Can't my oven break at some other more convenient time? hehe.
ReplyDeleteI'm wishing there were more than nine days, too! Eek!!
ReplyDeletereally its not the race
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm in high gear too and I want to have some slow days before Christmas. The only comforting thing is that every woman I know feels the exact same way! The week between Christmas and New Year's is usually relaxing though. :)
ReplyDeleteWe both wrote with similar sentiments about time yesterday! I know that you will ensure your family has a joyous holiday, and I hope that you do also!!
ReplyDeleteI had to realize that the list was only in my head. No one else knew. Or cared. Our Christmases have been so much more relaxed since then! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you. I had almost everything done which for me is a record. You know, babies+Christmas=excitedashell! Now, I'm just floundering, but I can't.
ReplyDeleteLove this, girl!! Glad you are back at it with blogging! Have a blessed holiday, my friend! XO
