A Military Jacket & The Blended Blog Launch
In typical Pacific Northwest style, fall has come crashing in without warning. Not even a postcard or phone call to announce its impending arrival.
Luckily, I'm prepared! I've been searching for a new military jacket since spring. Last week, while back to school shopping with my son (who, by the way, informed me that we don't shop well together - how rude!), I stopped by the Wet Seal store. I can't remember why I went in, since I'm a good twenty five years beyond their target market. Anyway, I'm glad I did, because I found the perfect jacket. It's the perfect weight, perfect color, perfect fit - and it has a hood. I did size up to a large so I can wear it over sweaters when it gets colder. They are out of olive online, but the red color is really pretty too.
Speaking of fall, it's time to sign up for Alison's Fall Style Challenge. Early bird registration runs from this Friday, 9/11 until 9/17. The shopping list will be released on 9/18 and the first of 21 outfits comes out 10/4. This will be my seventh challenge, and fall is always my favorite. I hope you'll join me!
**In the spirit of full disclosure, this is an affiliate link, which means I will get a commission if you decide to join the challenge. I only recommend products and programs that I use and love myself, so I know you'll be in good hands!**
And finally, the most exciting news of the day - the launch of The Blended Blog!
We've been working on this space since June, when Deena proposed the idea to Carrie and me in San Antonio. I hope you'll hop over and read the introductory post, and find out what the new collective is all about. With our fabulous group of women collaborating, it's going to be amazing!

Oh, that son of yours. I will happily be a sub for him in the shopping department. Love that outfit!
ReplyDeleteOh, how I would love to shop with you instead of him!
DeleteGlad you found a military jacket! Love this cute look!
ReplyDeleteJill
Doused In Pink
Thanks Jill!
DeleteI love your jacket Lana! We also have abruptly gone from sleeveless-shirts and shorts weather, to long pants and sweaters - at least in the mornings and evenings of every day. I'm disappointed because when my daughter was home, we shopped the summer sales, and its been too chilly to wear what I bought. We decided we shop TOO well together!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on The Blended Blog ... yesterday I went to the link you provided, and I am already a subscriber and follower on FB, etc! :)
It looks like summer will make a short return - so hopefully you can wear some of your new things. Thanks so much for your support of the new blog!
DeleteLove the jacket!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI do love a nice military jacket.
ReplyDeleteMust pop over to that other blog.
bisous

DeleteThis is really cute! Love it when I go into a store for the younger crowd and find something I like!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun when that happens?
DeleteI need a military jacket. Yours is so nice and versatile. Congrats on the new web home also. I will definitely check it out soon. Keep us updated!
ReplyDelete<3 Ada.
Thanks Ada. I hope you'll check out the new site!
DeleteThat is an awesome jacket. I also like the necklace.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I love the necklace but it's very tangl-y.
DeleteHeading over to the new site after I'm finished here! Love the jacket and can't wait to see what you come up with for Fall. It's also my favorite season!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your support of our new site!
DeleteMilitary Jacket for the WIN!! Love this look and can totally copy! PINNING!! And YAY for The Blended Blog!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about the launch today!
DeleteI had a military jacket years ago and I swear my sister stole it from me! We were just talking today about how she used to get drunk and steal my clothes and food!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! My sister and I were too far apart to ever steal clothes from each other - and now we're completely different sizes!
DeleteLove that jacket and so excited to collaborate on TBB!! It will be fun! XO
ReplyDeleteThanks Casey. I'm excited too!
DeleteGreat military jacket. I remember shopping at Wet Seal when my girls were still at home. Always thought they had nice things. This jacket is just further proof of that. XO
ReplyDeleteThanks Leslie. I'm excited to wear it all fall!
DeleteCongrats on the Blended Blog! I LOVE that necklace you are wearing and I can't wait to get my military jacket out again!

Thanks Carrie. We're excited about the new blog!
DeleteGreat look with your military jacket! I love how you styled it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen!
DeletePerfect fall look, Lana! I have never been in Wet Seal - might have to actually give them a look. I have a J. Crew military jacket I picked up last fall and still have not worn. It's too loose or something. I need to figure out how I can make it a little more figure flattering. I will definitely check out the new Blended Blog!
ReplyDeleteI was surprised that I found something at Wet Seal. This one fits really well!
DeleteMilitary jackets are becoming a real wardrobe staple, a classic Autumn jacket. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Thank you so much for stopping by.
DeleteA nice and polished everyday outfit. I do not own a long chevron necklace or a military/utility green jacket but would love one of each lol. =)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ada!
DeleteAnd you show why we should hit the junior shops. Excellent purchase that will keep you chic and cozy all fall and into the winter. The more I see this very masculine cut worn by women, the more I appreciate your addition of contrasting elements ... delicate necklace and girly flats. Neat!
ReplyDeleteYour links look good ... will chase them down when time permits.
Thanks Jan! I do like to mix masculine/feminine together.
