The Dog Days Of Summer
I've always called this time of year "the dog days of summer". When everyone is thinking about fall and back to school, jeans and boots and books - but the weather is saying summer and shorts and swimming pools.
(On a side note, and for my own curiosity, I looked up what "the dog days of summer" really means. It actually refers to the rising of the dog star, Sirius, and it's conjunction with the sun, which typically occurs from July 3rd to August 11th. So I'm about two weeks off - oh well).
I have to admit that I've been spending most of my time in sweats, tshirts, and yoga pants. Taking care of my mom has been like having an infant in the house again. Because she's right handed, and broke her right arm, she's very limited in what she can do for herself. But surgery went well yesterday and hopefully she's on the mend.
Today I actually got dressed for a lunch date with some friends. I love this lime green top and white shorts - perfect for the "dog days"!

This is a color that is totally in your color palette love with yellow. Hope all is well, friend! Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your mom is doing well after her surgery. Although I didn't have surgery when I fractured my foot this summer, I SO understand the inconvenience! At least I had my husband trained for a while! Before he sat down on the couch - because I had confiscated his recliner - he would ask me, "Is there anything you need before I sit down?" HA!

We have been thrust into early fall temperatures this week. A scary reminder of what's to come. Thankfully next week some summer heat is supposed to return.
