San Antonio & The Hotel Valencia
Last weekend G and I visited San Antonio for the first time and had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Valencia - Riverwalk. Designed by Dodd Mitchell of Los Angeles, the hotel features sleek lines and sophisticated style. As soon as we walked into the lobby, it was apparent that we would enjoy our stay.
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that we were in town to spend a few days with the lovely Deena and Carrie and their equally fun husbands. I'm so thankful that I got to spend time with these ladies, and I'll share lots more about our trip on Friday.
The Hotel Valencia is situated right on a quiet portion of the Riverwalk in downtown San Antonio, just 15 minutes from the airport, and offers great views and easy access to all of the action.
There is a lovely open air courtyard and balconies overlooking the Riverwalk.
Champagne and snacks were waiting in our room when we checked in - a nice birthday touch.
The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable, with all the amenities you would expect at a luxury boutique hotel, including 24 hour room service and evening turn down. The bed was super comfy, and even though we faced the street, our room was quiet.
G and I arrived several hours earlier than everyone else, so we had dinner at Citrus, the hotel restaurant. The atmosphere was elegant and inviting and we were seated right away.
Just outside the entrance were shelves with glass oranges signed by famous guests of the hotel. We were happy to see that "The Most Interesting Man In The World" had stayed here - we knew we were in good hands.
Our food was delicious and the service was excellent. G had Spring Lamb Shank and I chose Roasted Porcini Mushroom Pasta. So good!
I highly recommend a stay at the Hotel Valencia the next time you are in San Antonio. We hope to visit there again someday, and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else!
In the spirit of full disclosure, I did receive some complimentary services from the hotel in exchange for writing about them, but the opinions expressed are entirely my own.
