I am not what you would consider crafty, although I really wish I was. Having a Craft/DIY blog would be so much fun, but I look at DIY projects on other sites and wonder why I didn't come up with something like that. Oh wait, I remember...
Because I'm not crafty. But I AM pretty good at copying things other people have done. Not sure anyone would want to come visit that blog though, so I guess I'll just keep doing whatever it is I do here.
Anyway.
I saw this mason jar project on My Anything And Everything last summer, and thought it looked so cute and fairly simple. The first picture shows the jars I made, and below is what they're supposed to look like. I think mine turned out pretty similar. The chalk paint was very easy to work with, but painting sharp lines using stencils on a curved surface took some trial and error. Hence, you will not be seeing a close up of this project.
Maybe I'll make this instead. The SITS Girls recently posted 20 spring crafts and recipes, and this initial wreath was my favorite.
Those mason jars are so cute! And I love the floral monogram wreath! I love to craft and plan to carve out some time to do so with my daughter this summer! Susan
ReplyDeleteThank you. I might try the wreath this weekend.
Deletelove the mason jars!!!! I think yours turned out great!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shaunacey!
DeleteI love those mason jars! I have a slight obsession with wreaths and might have to try to make that floral initial!

I think the initial wreath is so cute - I hope you share it if you decide to make it!
DeleteI really love your floral initial...but those jars are so cute, too! You are very creative!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy. I'm really not - but I can copy others pretty well.
Deletehaha, and you Shaunacey said the same thing about making babies...lol, I would have laughed :) I think they turned out great! I've always wanted to paint mason jars, but it seems hard, so I don't...good for you!
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't hard at all - or else I wouldn't have done it :)!
DeleteThat's a fun mason jar project - yours look great! I can only imagine how hard it would be to paint straight lines.

The straight lines didn't work out too well - but if you don't look too close, it's hard to tell!
DeleteVery cute!! You could really do that for any season. I LOVE it!!! I liked that picture of the Easter porch too!
ReplyDeleteI love that porch - so fun!
DeleteCute stuff! I wish I had the patience to craft.
ReplyDeleteThat's part of my problem too - no patience!
DeleteLana I love the Mason Jars!! Yours look awesome! Great Job!! I'm not at all crafty and I want to try this!!!
ReplyDeleteYou should try it Katie - super easy!
DeleteLana, this whole post is swoon worthy! I want to try the mason jars with spring flowers, the initial with flowers and the adorable springy front porch!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the inspiration :)
Thanks Karen!
DeleteThe jars are so cute and festive. I guess fashionistas aren't crafty?
ReplyDeleteThat's my excuse anyway!
DeleteYou did a great job copying the jars! In fact, I think yours look even better than the original! Be sure to share the spring one with us if you do it! Maybe you can paint the S-P-R-I on the back of FALL and then you only have to add two more?
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great idea - then I would only have to do two more! Thanks for the suggestion.
DeleteI like when others do DIY projects, they are so creative... kudos to you for even copying... I am not sure I could even do that, I am not crafty either but I appreciate when other people are Lana xox
ReplyDeleteIt takes a lot of trial and error, but I usually get it in the end!
DeleteI tend to agree - I think my kids have been my greatest “project” as well. You sell yourself short though - your jars are perfect!
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan!
DeleteI think the mason jar project would be hard for me! I love to read about DIY projects - especially spring ones! We're all getting more in the mood to decorate and create!
ReplyDeleteBring on spring!
DeleteThose jars are adorable. I want to do a Spring or Summer version of them.
ReplyDeleteI think they would be really cute with spring flowers, or little Easter eggs!
DeleteHey non-crafty lady, it's me another non-crafty lady. I totally loved the idea of posting a pic of your boys. But I like your FALL jars. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteUs non-crafty types have to stick together, I think! Thank you!
DeleteI found you at Airing My Dirty Laundry, and I'm your newest follower! I think your mason jars look better than the ones in your inspiration picture. With spring around the corner, I may have to attempt that floral letter wreath. So cute!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you!
Nice to meet you too. I'm so glad you stopped by. I just hopped over to your blog, and it's lovely. Your daughter is adorable!
