Sometimes I get tired of wearing jeans in the winter, and I always fall back on skinny cords. I wore this tan pair with a wool sweater and a dark chambray shirt. Comfortable, and most importantly for me, warm. I added the necklace that I found at the bottom of my purse earlier this month - oops.
Skinny cords also look great with a tunic top and a scarf, or a fitted blazer.
My favorite skinny cords are the Diana fit from Kut from the Kloth. They come in thirteen colors and have just the right amount of stretch. Loft also carries a wide selection if you have a curvier figure.
In other news, my friend Carrie, who blogs at A Lovely Little Wardrobe, is hosting Create28 Lovely Looks during the month of February. You can go to her site for all the details, but there are three options to participate: choose 28 pieces from your closet and create 28 looks, create 28 outfits using as many pieces as you like from your closet, or create a daily outfit from the spotlighted piece which Carrie will post each day. She will have link-ups throughout the month to showcase what everyone is wearing. Since I'm not buying anything new for my closet right now, this will be a fun way to re-mix pieces that I already own. I hope you'll join us!

Doused In Pink
Thanks Jill!
DeleteThat's a great outfit and smart idea...closet space in our small house is at a premium so creating a smart wardrobe is very functional just because of that alone!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to whittle down my wardrobe, so I'm really looking forward to Carrie's challenge!
DeleteI love cords in the winter because they're a great comfortable way to add some color to my normal jeans and black jeans.
ReplyDeleteNothing more fun than finding a necklace on the bottom of your purse!
I couldn't believe I had forgotten that I bought that necklace!
DeleteOOOOOO, love that purple on you and those cords are great.
ReplyDeleteMerci my dear!
DeleteI love this outfit on you. Corduroy, I haven't fully gotten on board with them yet. Carrie's 28 day challenge is so much fun. Wish I had more time to do it with you guys. Maybe i'll try to join in when I can and have the time to pull outfits together.
ReplyDeleteYou would look great in corduroy, but it might be too hot where you live!
DeleteSo cute! you look great.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day!

DeleteGreat outfit Lana! Thanks for posting the picture of the burgundy cords as well. I've had a pair of skinny cords that color for a while but haven't been brave enough to wear them... Now I think I will!
ReplyDeleteI hope you wear the cords, Susan! I bet they'll look great on you.
DeleteI had a pair of grey cord skinny - had and now I wish I still owned them. I like this outfit on you, especially the colors. Thanks for the shout out, friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carrie. I'm looking forward to your challenge.
DeleteCute! I really like that sweater.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love the color.
Deletesuper cute!! i keep hearing about these cords... sadly, my growing size likely won't allow for them any time soon!
ReplyDeleteNo, you'll probably have to wait awhile - but for the best reason!
DeleteI love that shade of purple on you!! Gorgeous! I have a couple of pairs of skinny cords that I bought from Maurices a few years ago - I love them!! I like how you paired the cream sweater with the dark pants! I think I will try this outfit this weekend! Thanks! Susan
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan. It's a really pretty color!
DeleteThat shade of purple looks so lovely on you, Lana! I really enjoyed reading this post and it made me realize I don't own any cords at the moment. Might just need to do some shopping. :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to see how you style the cords!
DeleteI really love skinny coords, I have two pairs... one in navy and one in burgundy. I got both at The Gap Outlet and love how they fit. I love how you styled yours with a sweater and chambray shirt w/ boots.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carrie. A navy pair would be fun!
DeleteSooo cute! And warm, too? I 've just discovered paradise! I like the Kut clothes. Never heard of them before. Going back now . . .
ReplyDeleteI like most of the Kut clothes because they are cute, different, and a good price.
DeleteOoh, those burgundy ones are gorgeous. I'm getting tired of jeans too. I'd never even heard of skinny cords but it makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI must get some!
They would look adorable on you - and warm too!
