When G and I first got married, we always went to my mom and dad's house for Christmas breakfast and present opening, usually in our pj's. Then we'd go home to shower and get dressed, and come back for Christmas dinner.
Once we had the boys, we decided we didn't want to haul them back and forth on Christmas day, so the festivities switched to our house. Now, everyone gathers here for brunch and presents, and those who can stay the rest of the day and have dinner.

We ALWAYS have Christmas brunch, because my sister and her family
For Christmas dinner, it's ALWAYS prime rib, twice baked potatoes, and cranberry romaine salad. My hubby is head chef for all these meals, and I help with setting the table and clean up.
Stop by today and visit the other Style Me Bloggers to find out about their favorite holiday meal. I hope you'll link up with us, or come back in two weeks for our Christmas home tour. I can't wait for that one since I'm nosy and love to see everyone else's homes!
So fun to look at your photos! Prime Rib for Christmas sounds wonderful! We do Christmas Eve here and then Christmas Day at my sister's. One year we showed up in our pj's and she was not happy!

Spending the whole day in PJ's sounds wonderful to me!
DeleteMy family is also set in it's way. For me, holidays are about traditions though so I enjoy it. Probably why I look forward to them so much, because I know exactly what we will do and eat. haha.
ReplyDeleteMe too!
DeletePrime Rib! I have never tried cooking that....love the idea of something other than turkey
ReplyDeleteLuckily my hubby cooks it, because I have no clue!
DeleteWhat fun traditions! We do a brunch as well ... and it always includes grapefruit halves sprinkled with brown sugar and a maraschino cherry placed in the center. (This is a carry-over from my childhood.) And every year since my kids were tiny, I have made a batch of cinnamon rolls.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I don't have a post prepared for this linkup - but I will look forward to reading everyone else!
I would love to try one of your cinnamon rolls sometime! The grapefruit halves sound yummy too.
