Sharing Some Gratitude Part Two

Last month, in the midst of an anxiety fit, I decided to resurrect my Gratitude Journal. Keeping track of the good things in my life makes me a more positive person, which leads to more happiness all around.   I did a pretty good job writing in my journal during June, and I'm sharing some of the things I'm grateful for this month...

--I'm grateful for this guy.  This is my Grandpa Ed, and he'll be 96 in a few months.  He still lives in his own home, drives, golfs every week, has a paint studio in his living room, and is an all around awesome, healthy person.   A few weeks ago his car was in the shop, so he got his old bike out and rode to the sandwich place a mile away.  I want to be just like him when I grow up.

--I'm grateful for strawberry season.  My hometown is surrounded by strawberry fields, and I can buy a flat of fresh picked berries for $10.  They are so sweet and delicious! Anne at Love The Here And Now shared a simple recipe for making strawberry jam on her blog.  I am a disaster in the kitchen, but I think even I can make this recipe.

--I'm grateful that my older son started school this week.  He's on a remarkable path to realize his passion.  I wrote about it yesterday, but if you missed it you can read about it here.

--I'm grateful that my husband worked on our bathroom last weekend.   A few months ago I showed this "before" picture.

Everything isn't finished yet, but I love the color and the new mirrors!

--I'm grateful for the world that has opened up to me since I started blogging.  Never in a million years did I expect to find such a great community of supportive, kind people, and everyday I enjoy blogging more.  Through Alison's Style Me Challenge, I have met many wonderful ladies. Deena at Shoes To Shiraz, Carrie at A Lovely Little Wardrobe, and Shaunacey at Confessions Of A Frumpy Mommy are three women at different stages of life, and they all write beautiful blogs that are definitely worth a read.

I hope you find what you are grateful for!  Have a wonderful weekend.

  9. Grandpa Ed looks like a rock star! Both of my grand fathers passed away before I was born and my father died when I was a teenager so I've always been a little envious of grandfather relationship both for me and my daughter who also didn't have grandfathers. I bet he was terrific! Looks like a fun guy!
