I love shopping at Ikea. The way you wander through the different rooms like you're in someone's home is so appealing to me. There's a fun play place to drop the kids. The restaurant serves yummy Scandinavian meatballs and salmon lasagne (okay...maybe I'll take a pass on that last one). Everything is so bright and organized, and their prices are great. What's not to love?
Unfortunately, the closest Ikea to my house is over an hour away, if there is no traffic, which is almost never in Seattle.
In light of that fact, I haven't been in over a year. Major bummer. However, in my spare why-won't-anybody-drive-to-Ikea-with-me time, I've been making a list of the things I will buy when I get there. I'm pretty sure you need them too.
1. Those Flower boxes up above are so pretty and colorful. I picture them hanging all around my back deck with peonies in them. I wonder if my dog would leave them alone?
2. I don't know where I would put it, but I would love to have this Valet Stand. I could choose my outfit and visualize accessories before I put it on. Maybe I wouldn't have to change ten times :).
3. I'm a disaster when it comes to packing. I always bring way too much and no matter how hard I try, things get all scrunched up and wrinkled. These packing bags would be so nice to keep clothes separate and organized.
4. Summer is coming (did you hear me, Seattle weather?), with lots of BBQ's and backyard parties. This pitcher comes with a removable insert that can be frozen to keep drinks cold longer. And it's $4.99. That is practically free.
5. This accessory hanger would be perfect to clip necklaces onto or organize scarf collections (what...you don't have a scarf collection?). Much better than digging around in a drawer.
Altogether, everything comes to about $50.00. Hey, maybe I can talk my husband into driving me there this weekend. I won't tell him that the gas will cost more than the stuff I buy :).
Linking up with Five On Friday.
IKEA is the spot to go for a great deal on some great stuff! I wish that valet had wheels - it would be perfect for my daughter's dance competitions.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could put casters on the bottom? I've seen them at home stores.
DeleteI have not been to IKEA in ages because its 45 minutes away and on the weekends it's too crazy busy. I think I need all of these picks! Especially the valet stand, flower boxes and pitcher.

Same for me - it's been too long.
DeleteWe don't have an IKEA, so I've only been once. I did enjoy walking through all the rooms! I'd be going regularly if we had one nearby! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's probably a good thing that mine is so far away!
DeleteI love IKEA ,that accessory hanger is so cool :)
ReplyDeleteI know - I really need it for my scarves.
DeleteIkea rocks and we always end up getting more than 5 things when we are there!
ReplyDeleteTrue - I probably wouldn't be able to stick to only 5!
DeleteI love Ikea! The nearest one to us is about an hour away...but it is so much fun to wander around when we do go.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like everyone lives far away from Ikea! Maybe they need to build more stores :).
DeleteOh wow! We have an IKEA near us….now I just need to talk the Hubs into going out to do a little shopping this weekend with me….
ReplyDeleteSo you're the one that lives close to Ikea - lucky! I hope you get to go :)
DeleteThe window boxes are pretty and I could have used one of the pitchers tonight. I had 8 teenage boys here for dinner and couldn't keep up mixing the huge quantities of lemonade they were pouring down their throats! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! That will be me tomorrow night - T asked if he could have a "bro night", whatever that means. I'm sure it will involve lots of food! Have a great weekend!
DeleteOh, my, gosh! I want everything on your list. Unfortunately not everything is available online and I live no where near an Ikea. But I don't mind the FedEx guy stopping by the house with my goods. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish Ikea carried more things online. If they did I would already have the things on my list :)
Deletethese are great picks! Can you believe that I have never been to IKEA?! I know - I am missing the boat(: Susan
ReplyDeleteIf you have one near you, it's worth a trip!
DeleteIKEA is awesome!!! I could really use that accessory hanger. Might have to pick that up on my next trip there!
ReplyDeleteYes, Ikea is so fun. Wish I could go more often.
DeleteI have never been to an Ikea...the closest one from me is about 3 hours away. Hopefully sometime this summer or this fall I can head down there with some friends. I'm thinking we will need a Uhaul to get everything home!
ReplyDeleteYou are officially the farthest away! Hope you can make a trip - it would be fun.
DeleteLove the colors on those flower boxes!
ReplyDeleteI know, aren't they bright and pretty? Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteOh Ikea why must you be so far away? Love this list
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone live near an Ikea? Clearly they need to build more stores :). Thanks so much for stopping by.
